We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead multiple concurrent projects from inception through completion. This role combines technical engineering expertise with client relationship management and team leadership. You’ll work directly with clients, mentor junior engineers, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Project Leadership
Develop comprehensive project scopes, budgets, and schedules
Execute strategic plans for successful project completion
Lead project meetings and deliver client presentations
Serve as primary point of contact for assigned clients
Coordinate cross-functional project teams
Technical Responsibilities
Perform engineering analysis and design using both manual calculations and specialized software
Develop construction documents using AutoCAD and Revit
Create detailed project specifications and technical reports
Conduct field investigations and condition assessments
Perform site visits to monitor construction progress and write field reports
Business Development & Leadership
Write proposals and pursue new business opportunities
Represent JBCI at industry associations and professional events
Lead project teams of junior engineers
Review and approve work prepared by junior team members
Participate in onboarding and training of new engineers
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
Experience: 6-10 years of relevant structural engineering experience
Certifications: Professional Engineering (PE) License
Experience in building restoration, façade work, or forensic engineering
Active involvement in relevant industry associations (ASCE, SEI, etc.)
Additional engineering management coursework
Technical Proficiency: AutoCAD, Revit, structural analysis software (We use RISA-3D, RISACalc, Hilti PROFIS, ForteWEB, and SkyCIV. Experience in all of these analysis software programs is not required, just a willingness to learn!)
Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Leadership: Strong mentoring abilities and team collaboration skills
Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
Problem-Solving: Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
Adaptability: Flexibility to adjust to changing schedules and priorities
Code Knowledge: Understanding of building codes and engineering references
Independence: Self-motivated with ability to work autonomously
Mobility: Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites within a 2-hour radius of Philadelphia
Office Environment: Modern, collaborative workspace in Center City Philadelphia
Flexible Hybrid Schedule: Required 2 days in office, daily flex hours
Field Work: Regular site visits requiring work at heights using scaffolding, boom lifts, and rooftop access
Physical Demands: Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds; exposure to outdoor weather conditions
Travel: Up to 50% local travel during business hours
Competitive Compensation: $100,000 – $130,000 commensurate with experience
