Award-Winning Structural Engineering Projects

Award-winning structural solutions across multifamily, higher education, and healthcare.

A Portfolio Built Around Complex Existing Buildings

JBCI’s award-winning work reflects the types of projects we are known for: complex repairs, occupied facilities, and solutions that must perform in real-world conditions.

From healthcare campuses and higher education facilities to multifamily communities, our team delivers structural investigations, façade rehabilitation, and repair programs designed with constructability, safety, and long-term performance in mind.

The projects below highlight how JBCI approaches challenging structural issues with clarity, coordination, and practical execution.

Einstein Medical Center Helipad Repairs

Helipad Structural Rehabilitation – Active Healthcare Facility

When Jefferson Einstein Philadelphia Hospital engaged JBCI to restore its mission-critical helipad, the primary objective was clear: maintain uninterrupted flight operations throughout construction.

JBCI collaborated closely with hospital staff and the construction team to develop a phased repair approach that integrated seamlessly into daily operations.

Work was carefully scheduled and executed within tight windows to minimize disruption — ensuring continuous use of the facility while addressing critical structural needs.

Completed while maintaining full operational continuity.

1211 Chestnut Street Façade Restoration

Façade Rehabilitation – Terra Cotta Replacement & Structural Repair

During a previous cycle façade inspection, JBCI identified severe terra cotta deterioration along with water table-related damage. Temporary debris netting was installed to maintain safety while a long-term repair strategy was developed.

The project required removal of deteriorated terra cotta and corroded steel framing, followed by installation of a new structural support system integrated with the existing building.

New GFRC (glass fiber reinforced concrete) panels were designed and installed to match the original terra cotta, restoring the building’s exterior while improving long-term performance and durability.

Executed as part of a phased repair program focused on safety, constructability, and long-term façade performance.
